Role description

As a Triggre JavaScript developer you have an insane passion for front-end technologies and have a professional work ethic. Together with the rest of the Research & Development team, you will be building new functionality for the Triggre platform based on requirements defined by the product owner, covering code with tests and participating in regular meetings. You will work under supervision of the team leader while having a lot of room for creativity and new ideas.

Activities that are part of the job: writing code in JavaScript using different frameworks and tools, covering code with unit tests, participating in weekly planning meetings, discussing new functionality with the team and the product owner, performing core reviews, fixing issues and celebrating success!

Technologies, frameworks and tools that are used for front-end development at Triggre are: our own custom widget system, custom templates, jQuery, Kendo UI (to be replaced in the nearest future), Moment.js, Node.js, Express.js, Gulp, Webpack, Less, ESLint, Stylelint, Babel, Intern, Figma, WebStorm, Git, Confluence, Jira.

You’ll be part of the Research & Development team, consisting of several sub-teams responsible for front-end and back-end development, quality assurance and release management. Although Triggre is headquartered in the Netherlands, we essentially operate remotely. You will have colleagues in the Netherlands, Poland and Spain. Specialists relocated from Belarus and Ukraine are welcome.

Your job:

  • Extending Triggre’s SPAs with brand new functionality by writing beautiful and high quality code
  • Porting old parts of the applications to new technologies
  • Covering code with tests
  • Performing code reviews
  • Fixing issues reported in the defect management tool
  • Using source code management software
  • Taking part in regular meetings, planning and discussing current tasks

Responsibilities:

  • Developing features according to the requirements
  • Writing quality code
  • Being a real team player

Your skills:

  • Have 5+ years in front end development
  • Have good English speaking skills
  • Have strong knowledge of native JavaScript/HTML/CSS and constantly improve it
  • Know how to use build systems/preprocessors and how they work
  • Have a background with jQuery/UI
  • Have experience developing complex SPAs from scratch (at least several projects)
  • Have experience developing custom form elements/validators, systems with rich UI
  • Know how to implement multilingual applications
  • Know best practices/patterns/algorithms and when to use them
  • Have experience optimizing web applications for mobile devices
  • Know how to localize and fix performance/memory consumption issues
  • Be able to write most popular kinds of tests and know what they're for
  • Be able to write at least simple backends in Node.js
  • Have attention to details, be able to do pixel perfect slicing when necessary
  • Have the willingness to develop big projects in raw JavaScript without hype titles

And some skills that are nice to have:

  • Know/have experience with other programing languages, especially statically typed (but love JavaScript more 😊)
  • Have experience working on Microsoft development stack (C#/IIS/MSBuild/SQL Management Studio)
  • Be able to write Webpack/ESLint/Babel plugins
  • Experience with long-term app support, including big refactorings, migrations, etc
  • Open source profile is a huge plus
